My absolutely No. 1 favourite is Amy Liu 劉夢倩 from Sydney. She has great smile, a nice body, fair skin, confidence and very beautiful eyes.
But, I think she lacks performance on the big day. She was not too eager to intentionally gain exposure like many other contestants. She was also looking at the wrong camera during the Q&A, otherwise Amy Liu will definitely be in the top 10.
It is not surprising that 林家冰 Lenna Lim from Kuala Lumpur won the Asia-Pacific Region award category. In fact, the Asia-Pacific Region has the best candidates comparing to other regions.
The selection of the top 10 finalist were great, especially when Aliya Fan 范文雅 from Melbourne’s name was called. I really like her. There were 5 contestants from Asia-Pacific, 3 from Euro-America and 2 from Great China. My only disappointment was Amy Liu 劉夢倩 from Sydney was not selected maybe because there were too many great contestants from the Asia-Pacific Region.

The top 3 will be chosen based on Q&A. The host will asked the questions and contestants who think they can answer them will take a card and the one with the lowest number will get to answer the question.
My heart is with 范文雅 Aliya Fan from Melbourne. She was very careful and will only answer questions she is confident in answering. After a few rounds, 3 more contestants were left. Aliya Fan was standing in the middle like a real winner.
Finally, 2 contestants were left - Aliya Fan from Melbourne and Cheryl Wee from Singapore. Upon listening to the question, Aliya Fan for the first time like the question and decide to answer it. She said she knows how to answer. The surprising thing is, Cheryl Wee from Singapore wants to answer this question too. Cheryl Wee got the smaller number and get to answer the question.
I feel so bad for Aliya Fan! Luck was not on her side. She waited all this while for the right question and when she decides to take it, it was taken away by Cheryl Wee. Aliya Fan becomes the only contestants with no choice in choosing her question. Cheryl Wee should have let Aliya Fan take the question since she that was the first time she wanted to answer. I guess it was Cheryl Wee’s strategy to take out a strong contestant like Aliya Fan. Aliya Fan answers the final question and she did very well.

Personally, I like the result although I am not that agreeable with the winner. 林家冰 Lenna Lim is a great contestant and has improved a lot since winning Miss Astro. 黃馨慧 Cheryl Wee has proven that height does not matter. It is more important to look beautiful and has charisma. If 范文雅 Aliya Fan from Melbourne had her question, she might become the 1st runner up or 2nd runner up. 陳藝蓉 Roro Chen from London would be a good top 3 material. There is no top 5 this year. It would be good to know the top 5 in the mind of the judges.
Being supportive of Miss Astro contestants, I think this is the best opportunity year for Kuala Lumpur to sweep 2 of the top 3 spots to make significant history in MCI. Lenna Lim who won Miss Astro in 2011 was not exactly great during the pageant. She was too skinny with swimsuit, but she made tremendous improvements in MCI. Lenna Lim lost to the winner and the first runner up due to Q&A. Astro has booted out many great contestants in the past strictly due to Q&A. The best part is, Lenna Lim lost to Singapore, the shortest contestant in MCI which Astro loves to disqualify shorter contestants’ right from the beginning. Since favourite contestants from Melbourne and Sydney fumbles, and usual high potential cities like Hong Kong, Toronto and Vancouver failed to deliver top contestants this year, it is the best time to go for the top 3. Too bad, Miss Astro 2010 is just too weak. Any of the other top five in that year would have done the job such as Karena, Tracy, Isabel or Vivien.
